  3. When asked "What should the remote agent do?", scroll down and select 5. Type something.

  4. Type or paste the specific instructions for your routine. In the video, the user provides a detailed prompt instructing Claude to check Google Calendar for today's events, scan Gmail for unread emails from the last 24 hours, write a concise briefing, and save it as a new page in Notion.

  5. Press Tab or use your arrow keys to navigate to Submit and press Enter.

  6. Select the frequency for the routine. For example, choose 2. Daily.

Your routine is now active and will run automatically at your scheduled time.

If the terminal feels a bit too much like the Matrix, don't sweat it! You can skip the coding screen entirely and set everything up directly in your web browser.

Here is the simplified, click-and-go method perfect for anyone who wants to skip the technical setup.

Method 2: The Easy Web Route (No Terminal Required)

Step 1: Go directly to Claude Code

  • Open your web browser and navigate to: https://claude.ai/code

  • If prompted, sign in to your account and click Authorize.

Step 2: Create a New Routine

  • Look at the menu on the left side of your screen and click on Routines.

  • In the top right corner, click the black + New routine button.

Step 3: Tell Claude What to Do

  • Name: Type a simple title for your automation (e.g., "Daily Morning Brief").

  • Instructions: Copy and paste your exact instructions into the large text box. (Example: "Check my Google Calendar for today's events and my Gmail for important unread emails from the last 24 hours. Write a concise briefing under 200 words and save it as a new Notion page...")

Step 4: Set Your Schedule & Apps

  • Trigger: Select Schedule and pick the time you want Claude to do this for you (e.g., Runs daily at 9:00 AM).

  • Connectors: Click the + Add connector button to link the apps Claude needs to complete the task. For this routine, add Gmail, Google Calendar, and Notion. (If you haven't linked them before, Claude will prompt you to sign into those apps securely).

Step 5: Save and Test!

  • Click the black Create button in the bottom right corner.

  • Your automation is now live! To test it immediately, click the ▶ Run now button in the top right. Head over to your Notion account a few seconds later to see your finished briefing.
